Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, He departed to Galilee. 13 And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali, 14 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: 15 “The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles: 16 The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.” 17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

18 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him 21 Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him. 23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. 24 Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them. 25 Great multitudes followed Him—from Galilee, and from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.

OKAY, HERE'S MY TEACHING COMMENTARY

The exact place Jesus would begin His ministry was prophesied
This is very exciting! As we look at the life of Jesus Christ because his life was prophesied from beginning to end from the Bible. Isaiah the prophet foretold the very place he would begin his ministry in Zebulun the land of Naphtali by the way of the sea beyond Jordan. These details of Christ's life were prophesied hundreds of years before he came. He brought the message of light and salvation to the whole world.

The message of Jesus

Jesus began to preach his message saying repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. He brought the message that people needed to confront their own lives and examine themselves and to turn away from sin because the kingdom of heaven was available to them at that point. This is the exciting message that Jesus Christ brings that there is a new way of life for people. They don't have to be bound up in sin. They can be set free through Jesus Christ and find eternal life! But they need to acknowledge their need for God because God's power, God's kingdom and God's rule is available for them. When Jesus said you need to repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand that's a requirement to enter heaven. It's acknowledging that there is a higher power. God wants to rule our lives. That's what it means when Jesus said the kingdom of heaven is at hand. In other words, God is wanting to invade your life and be the Lord of your life but you have to repent from your own way, your own sins and say I want to be saved and then Jesus Christ becomes Lord of our lives.

Jesus started His Ministry Building a Team
We see that Jesus began his ministry walking by the sea and he built a team of leaders right away. He found Simon and his brother and said follow me and I will make you fishers of men. So Jesus came and gives to humanity higher purpose for life that is the salvation of souls and the building of his church, his work.

God is calling people today. Are you listening?
When the call of God comes you need to reply and follow that call into his purpose and plan for your life. Jesus kept on going and he found some more brothers James the son of Zebeede and John. He called them and they left their father and followed him immediately and became part of Jesus team. Jesus builds teams through churches, pastors and through leaders of ministries. Today, all over the world Jesus continues to build teams that can take his message and his ministry to the masses of humanity.

We find that Jesus ministry manifested in three aspects:
1.    He taught in their synagogues the word of God.
2.    He preached the Kingdom of God.
3.    He healed the sick and delivered people from demons.

This is a pattern for us to follow today. We have to teach and educate people the truth of God's word that can set them free from all kinds of false teachings, religious thinking that is not based on the Word of God. Jesus taught the Word of God followed by preaching the kingdom of God. Jesus allowed the anointing of the Holy Spirit to manifest according to his purposes and plans. God is still healing every kind of sickness and disease today. I have seen multiple miracles, healings, salvation's and deliverances through my ministry and around the world through other people's ministries. It just goes to confirm that Jesus Christ according to the word of God arose from the dead and he gave us His Name, His power, His anointing, His authority and his Great Commission to go and all the world and preach the good news to every person that they can be saved. That they can be forgiven. They can be restored to God. They don't have to live oppressed of the devil. God can heal their sicknesses and diseases. The Bible says Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

WHAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE?

1) We are not following fairytales when we are following the word of God. Some scholars say almost 300 Old Testament prophecies were fulfilled directly through the person and life of Jesus Christ.

2) The first message of Jesus Christ was repent for the kingdom of heaven is now available. We need to preach that message today.

3) Jesus started his ministry by building a team.

4) Jesus gave us a pattern for ministry of teaching, preaching and healing. He continues this ministry today through those that will believe and act in faith being led by the Holy Spirit.
